The Whois search at Cira.ca has changed to no longer show your personal information unless you select to show it.
From Cira.ca;

"On June 10, 2008, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) successfully launched the new dot-ca (.ca) WHOIS and your Registrant information is now private. The dot-ca WHOIS service is a public search tool that allows users to look up information about the holders of dot-ca domain names. A WHOIS search returns such information as name, address, phone and fax numbers and email address. After consulting with the public CIRA adopted a new WHOIS policy that no longer displays this information, to provide greater privacy for our Registrants."

Having personal information publicly available, especially email addresses, was causing some registrants to receive spam because spam sending vermin were harvesting email addresses from the Whois lookup.

While other domains require you to purchase "privacy" as an extra option, the dot-ca now comes with it as standard. Your information will be hidden by default. If you actually want to show it, then there is an option for that in your account at cira.ca
