How much disk space is required for Joomla installation?

A Joomla 1.5 installation uses (as of March 2010) approximately 27 Megabytes (MB).

As content and extensions are added the disk space used and the size of the database will grow.

The initial size of the database is under 1 MB.

Text content does not use up much database space.

Other media such as images, and especially audio and video files will use up more hard drive space.

Only textual content and Joomla settings are stored in the DB. Media files are stored on hard drive.
